Sinking of the Steamer America off Isle Royal

Greetings.
My grandmother, Ilene Schubert was a stewardess and my uncle Duncan Schubert (then 14 years old) was a cabin boy. They were both on board when the Steamer AMERICA hit a reef on June 7, 1928 off Isle Royal.

I was looking for anyone with more information on the steamer America. I'm writing a story as told by my grandmother about that night.

If there is anyone who has more information, I would love to hear. I also would love to hear more about what a Stewardess did on a passenger ship.
