Let's not forget that Paul did take an artifact from a wreck that he didn't legally own and that in this day and age, most of us wouldn't take a porthole off a wreck, even if we were involved in finding it. I doubt that you be rushing to Paul's defense if the State hadn't tried to prosecute him? Just because you don't agree with the State's continued pursuance of Paul, it doesn't make Paul's actions right or desireable.

: It's just another case of the state trying to use its legal muscle (read taxpayers' dollars) to beat up shipwreck hunters of times past. What a waste!

: It's easier for them to work AGAINST divers rather than WITH divers to encourage preservation.
: It also makes them no more honorable than the divers they try to put down.

: And as usual a REAL shipwreck conservation plan is lost in this eternal squabble.
