: : I'm a doing a report in science on Shipwrecks in the great lakes and this site has been a great help to me. Can any one tell me what some of the largest ship wrecks on the Great Lakes were and some info on them? I'm espically interested in ones that had a large fatality rate. Thanks

: For sure numbers of shipwrecks lost in a single storm (I think Mr. Bartlett would agree with me here) research the november storm of 1913.
: I forget the exact number of ships, but well over 10 disappeared of the lakes completely, taking
: their entire crews with them. The Regina, Charles S. Price, Leafield, Argus, Hydrus, Wexford, James Carruthers and John A McGean are just a few, and most of these have only been discovered in within the past 10 to 20 years or so. I believe every lake took at least one ship, but Lake Huron took the most in this storm.
