: Any update to the fate of this vessel?

Nothing really. There is a sidescan sonar image that resembles the Linda E. That object is in about 300 feet of water just southeast of Port Washington.
Interestingly that is also in the area that the Linda E normally fishes in. Though at the time the Linda E was full of fish and heading to Port Washington and supposedly not fishing. Something of note here, it is common for the comercial fishing boats to set thier autopilot on and free up that crewman for help in cleaning fish.
I'm not sold on the sidescan sonar. I live in Port Washington and fish the lake regularly. There are a number of wrecks in the general area that people occasionally stumble upon that are unidentified.
There is a local company that is offering thier equipment (mini sub) to help in the positive ID of this sonar mark. The weather though has been uncooperative and to date there is no new news. We are waiting for a larger Coast Guard vessel to arrive from Michigan to offer a more stable platform to operate off of.
I'll keep you all posted till I leave on the 25th of January.

Christiaan
