Yes, the Rouse Simmons is diveable but deep. And there are tree remnants on it. I haven't dived it, but I've presented the Underwater Archeological Society of Chicago's multimedia slide/video show which has some underwater footage of the wreck shot by a couple of our members.
No, the Rouse Simmons story is not a festive one, but no ship disaster is. However, the story goes well beyond the disaster, and it is one of hope and spirit for the holidays as our presentation shows.
