Long Point Last Port of Call by Dave Stone is one of the most widely published accounts of the loss of me M & B. Also, the captain's body was found on the point. I think this accounts for the popularity of the theory that the vessel is located near Long Point. However, considering the amount of commercial diving associated with the gas wells and pipelines, the associated side scanning, and commercial fishing in the area I have suggested that it is likely on the US side of the border and west of Long Point. Until there is a documented confirmed find any theory is as good as the next.

: Just courious, what leads people to beleive the M&B #2 is in deep water off Long Point? Is it just because it hasn't been found or was there something else that lead to that conclusion. I know next to nothing on this wreck and this is all assuption but it, Seems to me that she would have been heading north/northwest from Conneaut. Being battered broad side as the winds kicked up, turning west/southwest into the waves? Given most of the car carries go down with door failure, I doubt she stayed a float very long (15-30 minutes) and most likely went straight to the bottom. Given prevaling winds (SW to NE) may have been deposited or broken up somewhere on the Clear Creek Ridge or Long Point - Erie Ridge.
