: : : Lead, follow, or get of the way...

: : I find most of these "Fitz Movie" posts to be in terribly poor taste. Brendon should just remove them from the newsgroup. I do not believe this was ever intended to be a a forum for such nonsense.

: Poor taste? How so?
: WHY is it such a terrible thing to produce a motion picture about the FITZGERALD? For that matter, what is wrong with Mr. Williamson's attempts to exchange information with those who, at the time, APPEARED to be knowledgeable and RATIONAL people?
: This "nonsense", as you call it, is the FIRST serious effort to inform the World about our own maritime heritage. What is wrong with giving the World a glimpse into one of the most crucial AND dangerous jobs on Earth??
: Here's a shocker: Baillod and the lot of you are insignificant armchair know-it-alls whose only response to important issues is AVOIDANCE.

Stephen-
If you want to make a film about the Fitzgerald -- go ahead and do it and offer it up to any and all forums for public viewing. If you do so I commend you. The FITZGERALD is a very significant Great Lakes Historical Event and a very rich topic for a film.

If you want to discuss the wreck on this forum (and I think Brendon will support my comments, please restrict your subject matter to the FITZGERALD,it's history, or other information directly related to the vessel and the event. Personal attacks on individual people is what I view as being in poor taste.

Brendon - My continued complements for making this great forum availalble to both the diving community and the historical community.
