Joe,
I'm looking for the same planes. I understand that there was a guy who found two WWII planes in Lake Mich. and has shown them at the Oshkosh Air show. Actually I think WTTW Channel 11, out of Chicago, did a special about this. I think it ran on the air last summer July or August?
Please let me know what you find.
Thanks,
Matt
: Does anyone know the location where the navy sank the damaged training planes from WW2. It is a common fact that the navy made plywood aircraft carriers to train pilots how to land planes on real carriers. During this testing there was a lot of planes damaged. The records show that over 300 planes were buried at sea in Lake Michigan. These planes include fighters and a few bombers. Any info, including GPS markings would be great.
