It appears that they've found the Linda E. very close to where she was last reported. Two Navy minesweepers on a recruitment tour of the Great Lakes were asked to help search for her and located her off Port Washington in deep water. Preliminary suspicions appear to be that she was hit by a barge. I was frankly surprised that she was found because many decent sidescan units had previously swept the area where she was found without success. In any event, I'm certainly happy for the families that the mystery is over.
