A couple of observations about Bill 13 for those of you who have worked themselves up into a lather
over it. Don't lose any sleep over it, it will never become a law. Why do I say this? Well five simple
facts.

1) It is a private members bill (translation, very low priority to the government)
2) Thanks to the uproar that we raised over the matter it has been pulled into committee (what do
they say about committees? Takes minutes, wastes hours)
3) Hearings for the Bill will not start untill March (the ealiest) possibly April. Therefore the ealiest
the Bill could be back before the House is the middle of May, and that is if, >IF< everything works
like clock works in the Ontario Government (hahahahahahaha)
4) There are two other bills before the same committee, along with Bill 13. One of the Bills is for
Bill 29, the Ambulance Amendment Act (Minimum readiness). The other bill is Bill 15, An Act to
regulate the discharge of ballast water in the Great Lakes. Now on a scale of importance, Bill 29
will be the first to be acted on, since health care is a VERY BIG topic here in Ontario, and you can
bet dollars to donuts that there will be a very big speakers lists as every sector from the Health
care community will want their say.
5) Lastly, the committee maybe given even more pressing business to deal with before they can
deal with these three bills (it happens often enough)

Look at it this way Maybe, MAYBE, the middle of May the bill will be release to the House, that gives
the House something like 8 possible days on which to vote on it, and it will still be a low priority Bill to
the Governement. It's dead.

PS

Oh, just to be on the safe side though, fire off those letters and e-mails. I may not be losing sleep over
this, but I will only smile when it is dead and pissed on (the order does not matter, just as long as it
living impaired and covered with urien)

Phil, Tar-onna (thats Toronto to you Yanks)
Ice Diving? Still too warm, water ain't stiff yet.
