We loaned them a ROV for a period of time. Their work is worth supporting.
Our policy is to support efforts that present to the American public maritime heritage and education. At that this time we are supporting the surveys on the David Wells and an unknown, intact, three masted schooner resting intact in very deep water off of Chicago.
The David Wells survey is being lead by Liz Jurkacek (UASC), with photo support from Bob Gadbois (UASC).
The unknown ship is being explored by A. and T. Recovery's divers (on their own time) and will in all likelihood be fully documented by the UASC under an archeological permit from the State of Illinois. A. and T. Recovery's ROVs wil be used as required.
Your project might be worth some assistance.

"ahh, the BIG DOGS have showed up,
I have never critized THAT group, for finding a wreck, I have critized them for, what, in my opinion has been dishonorable actions. I have nothing more to say about them, without counsel from my attorney. ( I have been directed by Brendon Baillod {because of complaints, I would love to see that list} to tone down my rhetoric for fear of a law suit) So, consider this a pass on the truth.
However, why haven't you been involved with them, if you are so enthralled with them?
One reason that comes to mind is your price tag. My best guess is that with research costs, search time, documentation, recovery, dismantling and storage would roughly come to about 10 days at $250,000.00 (divided by 10 days) equals $25,000.00 a day. Much more then their $400.00 a day sonar person they employ now. I'm jealous, I would love to be considered an expensive one than a cheap one.
Unfortunately there wasn't much money in the Dc-4. Some day when I grow up I want to be just like you.........remember, flattery is the highest compliment.
Another reason, I would bet, is that there is no money in shipwrecks in the great lakes ( unless you have a chest of gold from poverty island), so, why bother. Thats a question I sometimes ask myself and self has yet to give me a reasonable answer.
I have to run.
