Everyone please read the bills and then voice your opinions. I more than most, if not all of you, have legitimate reasons to distrust the Michigan State Government on many of the issues pertaining to the cultural underwater resources. This initiative is a gigantic undertaking and I commend Greg for taking a leadership roll in doing something to correct the past and present neglect. Much to my tremendous dissatisfaction, is that it is not possible to completely privatize the stewardship of these resources. I have recently learned however, there are elected officials in the great “State of Michigan” who have listened and understand this initiative and are doing everything possible to correct these injustices. Give both sides an opportunity a chance to succeed instead of taking a negative approach. There have been and still are groups that have tried to achieve success but failed. Please give Greg and the State this opportunity to make this happen. It is a win, win situation for all and not just for the constituents of Michigan but also for all who will come to Michigan and enjoy it’s water resources.
I would also like Larry, Ross, Brendon, Wendy, Tim, Craig, John, Stan and Tech Diver know you all have valid and justifiable arguments, statements and concerns. Believe me I know from experience from fighting the State of Michigan in federal court since 1994. For all of you who are unaware, I am not a constituent of Michigan but I do pay my fair share of taxes in Michigan. I have also spent a great sum of money researching and exploring the lake bottom since 1976 that has directly contributed to the Michigan economy.
I shall continue my fight in Federal Court but I also support the direction that Greg and many others, including the Michigan State Government, are taking in this initiative. People you do have sincere, honest and caring elected officials, find out who they are, it is your responsibility, not Greg’s to tell you who they are. After all, you voted for them!
To Brendon, I will send you a voluntary contribution for all you have done on this website. I thank you for your tremendous contribution for the contents and your valuable time to maintain this site. I am sure all will agree.
Final word:
Everyone, this is not a new law. It has been in existence since 1899. It is being rededicated with minor recommendations in the form of bills. Read the bills and then voice your educated opinions or concerns. Get involved. Let Greg and more importantly, your elective representative know of your concerns. They will hear your call!
