My question for the MSRA group out of michigan is why have you not released the GPS # on a few of the Shipwrecks like the SS Michigan. You with the help of Mr Trotter discovered the wreck quite some time ago. You have given many presentations all over the country and by the looks of things your group is on too newer & bigger wrecks and yet to date no numbers. Here is a quote from the MSRA website " Unlike most other shipwreck discoverers, MSRA is committed to sharing the locations of all discoveries, whether we were the first, or just the latest group to have found these historic sites "
While i can understand not giving out numbers for wrecks that are newly discovered like you latest finds it seems you are not exactly folowing your own guidelines. Your organization accepts funding from outside thru Grants & Donations so you are certainly not like some of us who spend thousands of dollars each season out of Our Own Poctets. I have heard many times that your group wants to promote diving on your side of the lake to help dive shops, restaurants & business but if your not willing to share your discoveries with others including charter captains just exactly how are you promoting anything accept yourselves.
You passed out the numbers for the Ann Arbor # 5 that is barely divable but nothing further. While i can understand you not wanting someone to grapple into a wreck like the Hennepin this problem is easily solved by installing good mooring's on the wrecks like they do in many other parts of Michigan & Wisconsin.
If your not carefull one of these days someone such as myself who happens to own a Klein sidescan will end up posting the numbers so others can enjoy these wrecks too.
