Jim sfter watching my video tapes both the schooner Defiance and the Kyle Spangler have the same style bilge pumps. Both wrecks are located off Middle Island in lake Huron. The brig Audobon also has the same style pump as Kevin has indicated. The Brig Sandusky also had a similar style pump but the tubes stick out the deck further. I take it that since you think this vessel was built in the 1850's that there are no official no's on the cargo hatch lip and that it was rope rigged. I hope this helps in your search.
