I am writing a thesis on the topic of shipwreck hunting, and was directed to this site for some possible input. I have a lot of good information already, but I wonder if there are any inherent dangers to the shipwreck hunter or the boat they are using? Have any accidents ever happened to anyone who has searched for ships? Have any search boats ever sunk in the process of looking for sunken vessels? Has anyone ever been killed doing that kind of work? I am aware that certainly the divers who visit the wrecks face a multi-tude of dangers, but does the searcher face any other unique dangers?
