I've just been told that the Discovery Channel plans on making (or is already in the process of making) a feature on the Grand Trunk carferry "Milwaukee". lost with its crew in Lake Michigan (as we all know) in 1929. Has anyone heard of this? Is it a serious effort? What resources/authorities are being referenced? Where/ when is it being filmed? Or is this just another annoying rumor?
On another topic, does anyone have an idea where one could now obtain copies of vessel plans for American Shipbuilding carferries like the "Milwaukee", "Pere Marquette 18", or "Marquette & Bessemer No. 2"? Would library facilities like Bowling Green University, or the Milwaukee Public Library have them? Thanks.
