Ive got a day dream... I would like to see, or even write myself, a book about a schooner. The way I see it, the 130-180 foot 2 or 3 masted schooner IS early great lakes commerce. Yet all the good books talk about "our titanic, the Fitz" Or other "popular" wrecks. There are countless dive books that give a page or two to each wreck out there, but there's no such thing as a ship sinking without a story behind it! I think each wreck deserves it's own book. I have a vision of a book detailing the life of some random crewman, on some random schooner, giving good detail to life on board in those days, right up to the sinking. Then switch gears a bit and fast forward 100 years to make a much more in depth dive guide to a particular wreck then the one or two page account found in most books. I just thought I would put this out there for anyone to mull over, maybe theres something out there I should read, maybe I can learn something, maybe I can be convinced to pick a boat and start writing! Any comments? Thanks! Craig
