I found an old article that my dad saved from the Grand Rapids Press dated Jan 22, 1961. The article is about a Muskegon Skin diver named Burl Jimerson. This is the last paragraph : He said "Somewhere between Muskegon and Ludington lies$4,000,000 in gold bullion locked in a captain's cabin. Where is it? With the fickle shifting sands, that is a good question." Has anybody ever heard of this ?
