A question for you attorney types...Second paragraph states "the state did not consent to be party to the federal court case".Does that mean we as citizens have to consent to put thru the court system? What if we don't consent?Why didn't florida consent?Was it showing contempt for the federal judge?How can they claim ownership,while at the same time,deny liability?If someone drowns on one of "their" wrecks,they say oh so sad..too bad..tough luck.Your problem,not ours. I always find it humorous that states always use the old "we're protecting the wrecks" mantra,but you never see them actually doing stuff to stop the effects of the elements;ie..rusting,wood decay,erosion,encrustation by organisms,and on and on.Its always left to volunteers who receive no compensation for their efforts. Just something to ponder...
