Labadie was not specific on how far northwest the preserve would be expanded to, other than to include Presque Isle. I would suspect they will go from the existing boundries all the way to the east end of Bois Blanc Island or maybe west of the straits or there abouts (remember the newel eddy is a govt find).
The intent, I'm sure, is to gather the real estate with the highest concentration of wrecks. Also, NOAA has expressed an interest in wrecks outside the preserve . So, the solution for them is to bring them into the preserve. The problem with govt is they never stop taking over, "TOO MUCH, IS NEVER ENOUGH" for them.........Or our wallets..........
Maybe You should ask for NOAA for that answer??? Ask Your congressman/woman??? Or maybe the govenor (assuming she can overcome the puppeteer strings, since its a matter of record that Michigan govenors don't listen to the voice of the people)(what federal job do you think she might be Englering for)???
