We got our ROV back. Our ROVs have a large draw and need generators that are 7.5 Kw and above, they stop working with less.
The reason for the permit is to be able to remove (and replace) artifacts that aid in the identifaction of the wreck. It keeps people from being arrested while doing such things.
What I know about the "mild bends case" in Chicago is that by all possible dive tables and computations the driver should not have been bent, but apparently there were symtoms.

"Taras,
Thank You for your offer of assistance, but, the project is not worth any assistance from anyone. Unless you're offering about $25,000.00 to find the last engine. Brad, John B., Jeff F., Steve here's a chance to put your money where your mouths have been.
When I attended the Chicora presentation, hosted by the Chicora Preservation Society they made mention of the rov failing, did you get it back ? That was certainly very philanthropical considering the cost of the recovery and repairs. I wouldn't want to risk your resources for something not worth the trouble.
I noticed a while back, on a national dive accident list, a mild bends case in chicago, regarding a deep shipwreck dive. Do you know any particulars?
Archeological permit? Does this mean Illinois effort to further restrict free access is suceeding? I'm not sure I understand why you would need a permit?
Gotta fly......
