If you take the man at his word, (and I have no reason not to): ”B) It is deeper than everyone wants it to be” He probably marked it on the side scan, but wasn’t able to dive it. Twenty-eight years ago would find him sporting twin aluminum 80’s, a Scubapro Pilot regulator with SPG, and a zip up the crotch Unisuit. There is a lot of Lake Bottom in the flight path out of the realistic range even for mixed gas.
