perhaps there is a general decline in Great Lakes diving because so many of the wrecks in recreational range are stripped of all their goodies, and are now covered in a 3 inch layer of zebra mussels. It pretty much removes much of the visual interest for non-wreckies. To find more intact wrecks you either have to find them yourselves, or dive deeper. For the casual diver (ie vacation diver) neither is very realistic.
