The new wreck recently located off the southern shore of Door County in just over 100 ft of water appears to be the scow schooner Ocean Wave. She was bound from Door County to White Lake with a cargo of stone in the massive 1869 storm, which was was the worst storm of the 19th century on the Lakes. Her crew made it to shore in the yawl boat, but claimed she had gone down almost 20 miles out. She lies partially buried in the bottom with her cargo of stone still in her hull. She is still actively being surveyed and filmed and contains VERY little in the way of portable artifacts.
