Large volumes of water moving out of Stony Creek in Oceana County, on Michigan's West Coast have uncovered a extensive layout of spiles which indicate that Lee's Pier at the mouth of Stony Creek was quite extensive. Remains indicate a stucture 40' to 50' wide and extending well out into Lake Michigan. Also the possible remains of a wooden craft have partially been uncovered. These remains are so scrambled that it is hard to to tell if they are from a vessel or part of the stucture of the pier itself? They are flat planking in a crisscross look with what looks like a possible keel with planking. but it also could be a stucture that was built on the Historic Pier? Does any one know if any discriptions or pictures of the original pier exist? Could the wreckage of a old wooden vessell actually lie against the pier itself? Brendon or anyone else have any suggestions on how I can uncover this mystery? regards & thanks, Dave
