Dave, I agree with Bob. Carbon dating would not be helpful in dating wrecks. It is my opinion also, that radio carbon dating is not an accurate way to measure the age of any objects. Carbon dating is predicated on a constant rate of decay, which hasn't been proven. Issues with parent products and daughters product clouds the picture further. Rocks from Mt.St.Helens were dated using this method. The rocks were dated from 25 years to 2.5 million years, even though sientist knew the rocks were only 10 years old. Thats quite a variation!
