It is part of our family history that my great-grandfather "Martin Freeman" perished in the wreck of the "Henry B. Smith" in Lake Superior during the great storm of 1913. I do not know if he was a crew member or passenger. He was a part-time sailor and may have boarded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as an extra crew hand in exchange for passage to Cleveland, Ohio. Does anyone have some suggestions about how to research or verify this? Thanks.
