The target off Port Washington also corresponds both in depth and profile to a small steamer called the Belle that burned and foundered off Port around the turn of the century. This target was reportedly sidescanned in the same position many years ago by area wreckhunters. Due to her depth she was never visited or positively IDed. So, while this target may indeed be the Linda E., it could just as easily be something else.

: Milwaukee media are reporting that sidescan sonar searches may have located the missing fish tug Linda E. An image closely matching the tug's profile was spotted in 300 feet of water nine miles southeast of Port Washington and about eight miles off shore.
