In the late 1970s or early 1980s, the remains of an old schooner poked out of the sand at Pentwater, Michigan, about 200 yards north of the harbor mouth and well up on the beach. It created quite a stir in the community when a local girl, digging among the ribs, found the ship's bell. Does anyone remember this incident or recall the name of the wreck?
