HI,
I am doing a research paper for my English Class,I'm doing the wreck of the pewabic
shipwreck,75 to 100 lives were lost,Yes the METEOR did pick up survivors although she was sinking herself,it sank in Thunder Bay also known as Lake Huron 7 miles away from Alpena Michigan,it sank 6.7 miles at 130degrees from thunder bay island lighthouse,85 passangers and 13 crewmembers were rescued 36 were known dead, salvage has been mostly successful, the pewabic wen't down 140-165 feet and 5 divers have lost their lives diving to the depths of the
pewabic,it's final resting place is 170 feet of water.
