The ship in question had a lot of problems in her early life 1902 ashore at whitefish point, 1903 missed entrance to portage lake canal, went aground at Keweenaw, 1904 fight over ownership, 1905 sprung a leak went to bottom, 1910 aground at stag island, 1917 Stranded at Portage reef.
