We were swimming south of Harbor Beach. The part appears to be old, with alot of water wear on the exposed surface. It was on the edge of a channel that was dredged last year. The nails are small, about 1/8" in diameter.

: Where were you swimming when you found this? How big are the nails? Does it appear to be old?

: : This weekend while swimming we came across an interesting piece. It is wood, approximately 10" x 10", and about 7 feet long, although broken at one end. The unbroken end has a 3/4" rod protruding about 6 inches up. This end also has two holes drilled near each other. One perpindicular to the surface, and the second at a 20 degree angle. The wood has two lines of square nails running down one side, about 6 inches apart. One person commented that it appeared to be a rudder piece. Does anyone have an idea what it is?

: : Thanks,
