: : I am looking for information on this wreck.

: : Has it been found and if so where?

: I have no clue but the last i've heard is he was a Green Bay.

I works for Parks Dept. I have information from Hiram Walker Historical Museum prepared by Alan Douglas in 1968 in doing research of Peche Island
" 8/10/1679 LaSalle's Ship the Griffon the first sailing vessel in the Detroit river. (log) " The islands on both shores of the straits are covered with preimeval forests, wild vines loaded with grapes, of which lattersome were gathered, and a quantity of wine was made. The vast herds of deer surprised us all, and it appears to be place of all others where the deer love to congreate."
(Father Hennepin, quoted in 14, p.13).
You can contact Hiram Walkers Museum 1-519-561-5499, they may have more excerpts from Fr. Hennepin. Good luck! I hope this gave you some more information that you didn't have.
