Brett:
I took the NAS level 1 certification course through Michigan State Universtity in mid-2002 at Alpena. It was in conjunction with the NOAA Underwater Sanctuary and our instructors included u/w archaeologists from Parks Canada and National Park Service--Needless to say, it was an intensive 6 day seminar (including field work). Thanks to that class, I've never looked at a wreck the same way since.

The person who coordinated the courses is Gail Vander Stoep of MSU. If you would like, email me direct and I will send you her email address. I don't know when they have anymore classes planned, however there is a huge interest and it wouldn't surprise me to see them offer one again soon.

: I would really appreciate if anyone could tell me if there if there is anywhere around the Midwest where I can take the NAS courses. I know of classes in Vancouver and England, but would really like to find something around here. Thanks
