Hi All,

Thanks again to everyone who participated in the chat on the str. Choctaw last night.

The next chat will be on the str. James Carruthers, the last of the 1913 storm victims not found. The chat will again be on Tuesday the 25th at 8 PM Central. We'll be discussing the various claims and rumors of her discovery, her likely location and recent attempts to locate her. The following is a brief synopsis of the ship from Dave Swayze's newsgroup.

Accident Place: off Kincardine, Ont.
Cargo: 10,000 t wheat
Loss of Life: 25 [all]
Detail: This modern steamer was overwhelmed and foundered in the "Big Storm" of 1913. Probably capsized in the greatest Great Lakes storm on record. She was brand-new and was the largest Canadian laker when lost. (Wreckage reported found in late 1980's.)
