: Thankyou for answering my questions!
: But they arent over yet!
: Now I wonder, how can you possibly make a movie about a real shipwreck without any footage OF the shipwreck? I have to assume it will be only topside footage of the "fateful night" and day or week before. Right...? So... are you going to build a mock Fitz, or paint up an existing somewhat similar boat?
: I have all of a sudden become skeptical of how many people will be attracted to it, what with there being no love story, and no "after" footage. But It seems as though you are convinced, so it must be that I just dont have the full picture yet.
: Thanks again

Craig:
Please understand that I am unable to describe the various methods we’ve devised to depict the FITZGERALD in her various stages of operation. For the time being, such work is closely guarded and cannot be elaborated on in any great detail.
I CAN say that the scenes involving the wreck will be created with a combination of miniatures and CGI (computer animation).
When you suggest that people may not want to see the film because there’s no “love story” or “after footage”, you are inadvertently exemplifying the very attitude that makes this film so difficult to make!
The story of the FITZGERALD has NEVER been about the “heroic” dives or the recovery of the bell OR the plethora of pseudo-experts who deem the wreck as “old news”; those men (all 29 of them) suffered a horrible and UNNECESSARY death aboard what could be considered a modern ship. These were men with LIVES: sons, brothers, fathers, uncles, all with REAL personalities and dreams and hopes and goals. I don’t understand how the majority of people on this message board can dismiss their existence as “old news”.
We all know the ship sank – Lightfoot’s song made him rich with that notion – but does anyone really stop and THINK about THE MEN ON BOARD? For that matter, how many people even know their names or ages or prior histories? That’s what this film is about.
