: My vote is for the brig Neptune lost in November 1839 at Little Sable Point on the Michigan side. She was lost within site of present day Little Sable Point Light. Only two of her 19 crew survived and they were so badly frostbitten that they had their legs amputated below the knee. They were stranded on the beach in the absolute wilderness for over a week before they were discovered. The mate became a captain on the Lakes for many years. "Pegleg" Webster sailed until 1870 and died in 1874 at age 77. The Neptune was the first three masted vessel on the Lakes and has never been found even though her location is very well known.

: : Ol' Stephanie gave me an idea.

: : Why doesn't everyone post his or her favorite shipwreck to do a movie about? I am sure that we could get some varied, and entertaining, answers. I'll go first:

: : Even though there are hundreds of wrecks to choose from I think we need something that we could sell to Hollywood. I vote for the St. Albans. It might not have been my first choice, except that Kent Bellrichard told me that there were actually a group of hookers on board when she went down. He also told me that when the yawls hit the beach in Milwaukee a fight broke out over who was taking them home.

: : The story might need a little bit more research, but from what I have heard so far, it has everything that Hollywood is looking for nowadays- sex and violence.

: : Who's next???

: : Jon Zeaman- STILL using my real name;)

OKAY, first of all I must say that I for one am glad to see that Zeaman is "STILL using [his] real name"! GOOD FOR YOU! It's so cute that you assume that I somehow CARE.
Second, Mr. Baillod's proposal WOULD make a good movie AS LONG AS IT WASN'T PRODUCED IN HOLLYWOOD. See, he GETS the point! Why SHOULDN'T there be movies about the Great Lakes and her wrecks?? Curious....
