I've heard a similar buzz in the diving community this winter. The rumor is the BESSEMER was found in the last few years and her location is kept secret by a select group of divers. Who knows? The Marquette & Bessemer #2 is the sister ship of a few famous shipwrecks, all built in Cleveland. Her wrecked sisters are Pere Marquette 18(Lake Michigan), Milwaukee(Lake Michigan), and the Ashtabula(Lake Erie). The Milwaukee and the Ashtabula are the only wrecks that have been proven found. The Ashtabula was salvaged for scrap. If anybody else has information on the Marquette & Bessemer #2 please share it. The story behind the wreck is fascinating.

: My great uncles were the captain and first mates when she went down in 1909. Up to a few years ago the wreck had not been located. I was wondering if that is still the case, or with all the new technology someone had found her.
