: : I'm new to the world of ship wrecks, but I'm very interested. Does anyone have GPS coordinates for wrecks near presque isle? I would sure like to try and find one.
: : Thanks

You should check the books Erie Wrecks East by Georgeann and Michael Wachter (www.eriewrecks.com)and The Great Lakes Diving Guide by Cris Kohl (www.seawolfcommunications.com). These books can be ordered from their websites or you can order them through the great lakes research bookstore on this website. Also, most dive shops in your area probably have these books.
You can also find out about more Lake Erie Shipwrecks at www.alcheminc.com/shipwrck.html I don't think this website lists wreck coordinates, but once you know the name of the shipwreck, you can search for coordinates at www.ghost-ships.org/divedb.asp.
If you are new to Great Lakes diving, you should look for a local dive club to hook up with some more experienced divers in your area. If you have a boat, it should be easy to get dive buddies. You can find a listing of dive shops, dive clubs and charter operators at www.ghost-ships.org/directory/
