Brendon,
Almost the entire wreck appears to be burried under the sand so it is impossible to measure, only the steam boilers and propeller and keel are visable indicating she is upside down with the rest of the Daisy Day covered by shallow lake sand. See Ya later this summer you only need snorkle equipment to see her, the depth of water around her is on the average only 4 or 5 feet.

Dave

: Dave,

: This is almost certainly the little lumber hooker Daisy Day, built 1880 at Manitowoc, Wisconsin by Jasper Hanson. She wa
: 146.86 gt., 124.67 nt., 103.4 x 20.7 x 7.6 ft., Official No: 157002.
: She stranded "near Little Point Sable", October 11, 1891. Accounts state she was anchored off Lees Pier when she blew ashore. We know Lees Pier was in the area of Stoney Creek and there are absolutely no other historical losses to steamers in that area. Do you have rough dimensions for the remains? I'd certainly like to visit these remains this summer.

: : Earlier this spring I noticed some dark areas about 40' off shore from claybanks about 1 1/2 Mi. S of Stony Creek. Conditions were good today so I snorkled over the area and discovered what looks like two parts of an old steamer, one part has two old boiler like metal parts one about 5' long and 0ne about 12' long. About 100' from this wreckage is about 20' of the ships stern including the propeller which is quite large as are the ships visable timbers. Im quite sure Brendon Baillod can ID this vessel from his research on his recently released book,my email is kind of screwed up so Brendon give me a call I can show you the wreck this summer!
