I was actually trying to track down information on the same wreck and in the process of doing so stumbled upon this discussion board. I'm a long-time Ludington resident and didn't know anything about it until this weekend, when our family walked up to the Big Sable Lighthouse and back.
A person that we ran into on the beach pointed it out. It's about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile north of the main state park beach.
I took 2 or 3 photos of the wreck. I don't have the film developed but I would be happy to scan the photos and share with anyone who's interested.
