: I'm looking for underwater photos or scans of the wreck of the Steam Tug Laura Grace, located west of Oswego, NY. Also, She is listed as sinking there in 15' of water in 1920, was she scuttled or accident or abandonment?

: Thanks!

Rob,

There is a sunken tug in about 20 feet of water several miles west of Rochester, New York, which is about 60 west of Oswego.I have been looking at this tug info for several years. I never dove it, yet it is under my nose here. I will dive it this year.
Legend has it that it was named the Laura Grace. It sits on the bottom directly in front of the mouth of a feeder channel to Long Pond. Today I researched the old newspapers and found the sinking of the "Nonna Graves" a tug boat on December 5, 1918. Caught on a sand bar in rough seas. No loss of life. I went a few dates past the article looking for a mis-print correction but did not find one, calling it the Laura Grace. I will be doing some more research and a dive or two in the near future. I would like to see her properly named and marked.
Jer
