Attention Chicago, Northern Indiana and Southwestern Michigan Shipwreck fans! Join Michigan Shipwreck Research Associates, the Fort Miami Heritage Society and the Berrien County Historical Association as they present:

"MYSTERIES & HISTORIES -- Shipwreck Discoveries". Whether discovered in clear, shallow water or deep, murky depths, the identification of a newly found shipwreck turns explorers into detectives as they acquire the evidence and piece together the clues to determine the identity of the vessel. Join two local teams as they share the trials and tribulations of their shipwreck discoveries.

Thursday May 22, 2003 7:00 PM Fort Miami Heritage Society, 708 Market St., St. Joseph, MI. The cost is just $10.00 Per Person. For your personal invitation, visit: http://www.michiganshipwrecks.org/FortMiamiInvite.pdf.

Two programs will be presented:

"A Glimpse Into the Past - The Discovery Of The H. C. Akeley" hosted by the MSRA Research Team.

"The Zion Mystery Wreck" by Tony Kiefer

Doors open at 5:30. Arrive between 5:30 and 6:30 for a brief tour, with Director Ken Pott, of the new exhibit: "Shared Waters" which features a special display on Robert de La Salle’s sunken vessel LaBelle off the coast of Texas.

Also meet Bob Myers, Curator of the Berrien County Historical Association, local shipwreck expert and author of "Shipwrecks of Berrien County" .

Proceeds from this event will be earmarked for "Shipwreck Quest 2003" to further explore the bottomlands of West Michigan for sunken historic vessels.

MSRA is partially funded through a grant from Great Lakes Shipwreck research Foundation.
