Orrie Vale, continued to believe that he had found the 'Griffin' to his dying days. A detailed study of the remains, in a quiet cove on Russell Island, conducted by Paul Hundley or Huntley , then a graduate student at Texas A&M University, concluded that the remains were of a vessel from a much later period.
