The Port Washington "mystery schooner" is almost certainly the scow schooner Tennie & Laura lost in 1903. This is based both on the Coast Guard's underwater footage, the reports of scuba divers and the historical accounts of the loss. Although Swayze's database is the best secondary source in existence for historical Great Lakes shipwrecks, the Tennie and Laura doesn't show in a search for Port Washington wrecks, because all news accounts gave its location in relationship to Milwaukee. As such, Dave listed it in relationship to Milwaukee even though it is closer to Port Washington.

: After coming across story of SChooner X at Port Washington-I did a little checking with D. Swayee
: shipwreck database-Schooner of Wood with lumber cargo
: lost near Port Washington.
: Two possibilites-a propeller Screw Schooner that burned
: Note at end noted possible site.
: The other possibility was that of the "DAWN" lost 1891. For info see Swayee database.
