: Brady,
: I heard from a salty old gent that the cook was the most important person on the boat. He said Boats with a good cook got thier pick of sailors, while a boat with a crappy cook were avoided at all costs. Makes since to me.

: : I am seeking any articles that may exist regarding the practice of women serving on Great Lakes sailing vessels, particularly in the role of ship's cook. The article will be published in the February/March 2003 issue of The Deadeye dive magazine in the Inland Maritime Heritage column. Please e-mail me if you have any information on this issue.

I would contact Russ Green and ask if he has a Fleetwing report, that report has info on woman cooks I believe I lost my copy but the state should have one. Jon
