Pete Armbruster ran Great Lakes Dive Magazine out of Sault Ste. Marie. I have most of the issues. It was a very nice publication. I'm surprised it folded because he had a lot of advertisers. It looked like it was a lot of work and he may have lost interest after a few years. I definitely think there's enough interest to do something again.

I think a new magazine would be a great idea. It would certainly be easier to do it online. What will the URL be?
: I have spoken with a number of people about beginning a dive magazine for the Great Lakes with a broad focus (rather than beginner's technique like in Rodale's). The consensus seems to be to create a free web-based magazine at first, see how it goes and then take it to print.

: October 2002 will be the first version and it will change monthly. Submissions are open to all divers. I you are interested in contributing an article or information on any of the following subjects (or a subject of your choice), please e-mail me. All submissions may be edited for spelling, content, etc. You will be credited for anything contributed.

: Diving the Apostle Islands
: Preque Isle's technical wrecks
: Diving the Detroit River
: Active heating Ssstems for drysuits
: Just how cold can water get?
: The low-down on GPS and Loran
: Deep stops and rethinking decompression
: Favorite inland dive sites
: Where we dive in winter months
: Fish personalities: Trout
: Our favorite Great Lakes charter operations
