: We have located and dove three lighters in the Kingston area the Coubroug, Londonderry and Hilda, but now are looking for information on them. These lighters were scuttled in the late 60's in deep water(250) any info would be appreciated

My Grandfather owned Pyke Salvage, and the Hilda. I'm trying to find out more about his company and his boats. My family lives on the south shore of Wolfe Island, and we have a good selection of old articles and pictures of the various tugs and barges. The "Salvage Prince" and the "Salvage Queen" were his two tugs. The "Hilda" and two other barges (whose names escape me) were also in his fleet. I think I recall my father saying that there is a barge sunk just north of the sand bar east of Horne's Point however I'm not sure if it was my grandfather's, or he just put it there.
