Hi Mike,

I am currently piloting the David Boyd, a 47ft research boat out of Whitefish Pt. for the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society. I am also looking for data on the D. M. Clemson. Her debris scattered from Grand Marais, MI to Batchawana Bay in Ontario. In the stories told she took the Southerly route to Duluth. In 1908 the routes were quite a bit different than today. I just wonder what that route might have been. Was it direct to the Portage Ship Canal or was it just following the South Shore of Superior? I also found a discrepancy in the story of departing the Soo at 9AM. This don't make sense if the gale didn't start blowing until just after midnight.
Any info would be appreciated.
