As far as I have heard, the Griffon has never been found.
In fact, no one is quite sure where it sank.
After the Lasalle left Green Bay, it simply disappeared.
When Lasalle reached Quebec and discovered his boat had not returned, he launched an expedition to find it.
I believe this search went on for nearly two years.
Indian tribes all around the lakes were questioned and apparently the Griffon did not sail back down the Detroit River.
So it wrecked or was destroyed in either Lake Michigan or Huron.
There have been hull finds which are possible the Griffon, but none has been positively identified.
